Welcome to the 2015 edition of the Kansas City Business Journal's Power 100, a list of the region's most influential leaders.

Here's a look at how we picked this group:
We looked at people in terms of their present power within the local business community. Some elected officials have made the list, but only those who have the biggest say in shaping development or business policy, or who are important to getting funding for business priorities. Some of the people on the list derive their power by having influence on (or access to) other business leaders or by helping set the community agenda through philanthropy.
The Power 100 are people who get things done, people who can call anyone in the business community and get that call returned.
Your Power 100 will look different — perhaps very different. Share your thoughts on the people on our list: you can email me at bkaberline@bizjournals.com, or tweet to @KCBizJournal.
The 2015 Power 100 list is broken into five equal parts for easier consumption. Print subscribers can access the entire list in their print edition, digital edition or Apple Newsstand edition.
