Lowe’s looks to hire 50,000 employees — including 1,100 in Charlotte

Lowe's Cos. Inc. expect to hire 1,100-plus people in the Charlotte market as part of its National Hiring Day next week.

Lowe’s Cos. Inc. (NYSE:LOW) is hosting a national hiring day across its footprint next week.

The Mooresville-based home-improvement retailer plans to hire more than 50,000 seasonal, part-time and full-time employees. 

That includes 1,100-plus positions in the Charlotte market.

Its National Hiring Day event will be held Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 7p.m. 

Interested candidates — age 18 and over— can apply in person at Lowe’s stores nationwide. They will have the opportunity to meet with hiring managers, speak with employees and possibly receive on-the-spot job offers.

“National Hiring Day has been a simple and convenient way for any job seeker to apply for an open role, get to know us and begin a career with Lowe’s,” says Janice Dupré, executive vice president of human resources

Open positions include cashiers, retail associates, stockers and receivers, merchandising service associates, drivers, supervisors and Pro sales roles. More information is available at corporate.lowes.com/national-hiring-day.

Lowe’s had sales of nearly $90 billion in fiscal 2020. It operates more than 2,200 home-improvement and hardware stores and employs over 300,000 people. Lowe’s hired more than 90,000 associates into permanent roles in 2020.
