Pittsburgh’s third-largest law firm aims to streamline processes, increase efficiency and foster collaboration.

Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC, Pittsburgh’s third-largest law firm, has launched BuchananInnovate, a digital solutions center that aims to streamline processes and increase efficiency.

The new center is an expansion of the firm’s technology solutions platform.

“Innovation and technology are value centers of the firm,” Scott Angelo, Buchanan’s chief information officer, said in a prepared statement.

He described BuchananInnovate as a framework, creating more pathways and collaboration for vendor partners and the firm’s professionals to offer efficient and effective solutions to clients. It centers on data analytics and business intelligence, automation and artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital client experience.

In its foundational year, BuchananInnovate will focus on continuing to implement data analytics and automation tools across the firm. Based in downtown Pittsburgh, Buchanan employs 400 attorneys and government relations professionals across 15 offices.

As the platform continues to evolve, BuchananInnovate will create a sandbox environment where the firm’s lawyers and government professionals, vendor partners and clients can immerse themselves in new and leading technologies such as ChatGPT.

Another component will be events, including digital literacy continuing legal education programming, to support innovation and understanding of the ever-evolving digital landscape.
