The home was speculatively built by a Tampa builder and sold for more than $1,000 per square foot.

A Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman has purchased a home on the Beach Park waterfront for $9 million.

Mikhail Sergachev closed on the 8,077-square-foot home on Thursday, according to Hillsborough County property records. The seller was Modesta Homes, which built the home on a speculative basis.

Lake Michigan Credit Union provided a $5.4 million mortgage for the home purchase.

Jennifer Zales of Coldwell Banker Realty represented Modesta Homes in the transaction and Jamie Koharski of Remax represented Sergachev, according to the Multiple Listing Service. The sales price breaks down to more than $1,110 per square foot.

A Lightning spokesman declined comment Friday.

Modesta Homes paid $2.4 million for the .22-acre site in 2021, according to property records. The home has five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and one half bathroom and an elevator. It features a new dock, new seawall and 10-car garage.
