With new clients, the company outgrew its previously space.

Impackful Solutions is setting up a new headquarters across town.

The company specializes in packaging, fulfillment, direct-to-consumer distribution, co-packing and storage of wine and bourbon. It recently leased a 33,000-square-foot space at 2501 Stanley Gault Parkway.

After opening its first location in Napa Valley, Impackful Solutions moved to Louisville in 2021 to a building at 1600 Bernheim Lane. President Joe Taber said the company has outgrown its current facility over the last two years.

“We've been incredibly fortunate and very blessed with a lot of the growth that we've had over the last two years,” Taber said. “This is the next step. It's a very big investment for our operation.”

In May, I reported the company has partnered with B Cellars, a Napa Valley-based winery, to become its main fulfillment hub. Taber said that client, as well as two other large partners the firm has recently taken on, are part of the reason for the new space.

Impackful Solutions takes up about 50,000 square feet at the Bernheim Lane building, but Taber said the layout isn’t efficient for their operations. The company occupies about 8,000 square feet on the first floor, where it operates most of its business, and then additional floors are used for storage.

“We couldn't double stack. We had a freight elevator to go up and down,” Taber said. “It wasn't very conducive to growth.”

The Stanely Gault Parkway building is owned by Oakland Eastpoint LLC. Steve Gray, Robert Walker and Jake Mills of Cushman & Wakefield | Commercial Kentucky, represented the property owner in the deal.

In an email, Gray said the building totals 150,040 square feet, and it is now 100% occupied.

Impackful Solutions will be joining tenants Graeter’s Ice Cream, Baptist Healthcare, Derby Dental and Goodman Distribution in the building. Gray said the company took over the space that Republic National Distributing Co., which relocated to its new building at 11899 Rehl Road earlier this year.

Having formerly been occupied by a spirits distributor was one of the reasons Taber was intrigued by the space. He said RNDC had its space laid out as one warehouse, giving Impackful Solutions the ability to arrange and build out from a clean slate.

The company plans to build a few walls in the unit, as well as install air conditioning. The landlord will build a couple offices in the building. Taber said there isn’t an estimate on the total renovation cost, and no contractors and architects have been named yet.

Taber said some operations in the building will begin as soon as Oct. 1, and he intends to move the wine service business in by the end of November.

The East End location was also a bonus. Taber said the building is directly off the Gene Snyder Freeway, providing a convenience for the trucks delivering wine across the U.S.

The company has five employees, and the new building will allow for growth in its staff. Taber said he plans to expand certain operations that will increase the need for more staffing, but he didn't specify how many people he expects to hire.

Taber said in a previous story, between launching in 2021 to the end of 2022, the company increased business by almost 400%. He declined to disclose annual revenue.

“We're excited about the next chapter of the growth of our business, and this is part of that process,” Taber said.
